The Williamstown Circus "Parade Project" is an exotic moving circus parade that explodes with colour, sound and lively action. The parade is a culmination of a series of creative workshops in both primary and secondary schools and the Footscray Anglican Sudanese Youth Group. The workshops will factor into the schools curriculum of art, music and drama and also be co-ordinated in Footscray.
Experienced Circus performers and artists in specific areas will lead the process of design, devising and building costumes, props, puppets and even orchestrating a marching band.
This spectacular parade will commence at 1pm on Sunday 13th April and will cover the route illustrated below.

Westside Circus are coordinating the outreach program of the Williamstown Circus Parade Project. Each workshop is tailored to the needs of the participants and includes activities that are both challenging and fun.
The workshops are led by professional circus trainers who are also trained in social circus. Social circus training involves learning hands-on practical skills for using circus as a tool to facilitate personal and social growth and increase participation for people of all abilities.

Members of Tiny Top are co-ordinating the circus workshops in schools program. The cirus troupe will work towards creating an interactive roaming soundscape. Williamstown Primary are learning a series of circus skills and creating visual delights in the form of exotic costumes and large scaled puppets. Westbourne Primary and Westbourne Grammer grade 3 are spending their first term making masks that celebrate circus themes.
